Sloppy Joe Casserole Recipe

Transform classic sloppy joes into a hearty, crowd-pleasing sloppy joe casserole! Layers of saucy beef, gooey cheese, and a golden biscuit topping make this an easy, comforting dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion diced
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper diced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can 16.3 oz refrigerated biscuit dough

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the Beef Mixture:
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, onion, and green bell pepper, cooking until the beef is browned and the vegetables are softened. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  • Prepare the Sloppy Joe Sauce:
  • Stir in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Assemble the Casserole:
  • Transfer the beef mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture.
  • Add Biscuit Topping:
  • Separate the biscuit dough and place the biscuits on top of the cheese, evenly spaced.
  • Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Cool and Serve:
  • Allow the casserole to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
