Make the ultimate cheesy garlic bread at home! This easy recipe combines crispy bread, melted cheese, and flavorful garlic butter for a delicious appetizer or side dish.

Equipment

  • Bread knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Aluminum foil

Ingredients

  • 1 large baguette or loaf of Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  • Prepare the garlic butter:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Slice the bread:
  • Using a bread knife, slice the baguette or loaf in half lengthwise. Place the halves cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Spread the garlic butter:
  • Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread. Be generous to ensure full flavor.
  • Add the cheese:
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over both halves of the bread. Then top with the grated Parmesan cheese for an extra cheesy kick.
  • Bake the bread:
  • Place the bread in the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For a golden, crispy finish, turn on the broiler for 1–2 minutes at the end, watching closely to avoid burning.
  • Slice and serve:
  • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Slice into pieces and serve warm.
