Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Prepare the garlic butter:
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Slice the bread:
Using a bread knife, slice the baguette or loaf in half lengthwise. Place the halves cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
Spread the garlic butter:
Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread. Be generous to ensure full flavor.
Add the cheese:
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over both halves of the bread. Then top with the grated Parmesan cheese for an extra cheesy kick.
Bake the bread:
Place the bread in the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For a golden, crispy finish, turn on the broiler for 1–2 minutes at the end, watching closely to avoid burning.
Slice and serve:
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Slice into pieces and serve warm.
