Cheesy garlic bread is the perfect combination of crispy, gooey, and savory. With its golden crust, melted cheese, and buttery garlic spread, it’s an irresistible side dish for pasta nights or a snack on its own. This recipe will show you how to make restaurant-quality garlic bread at home in just a few simple steps.

      Ingredients

      • 1 large baguette or loaf of Italian bread
      • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
      • 3 cloves garlic, minced
      • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
      • 1/2 tsp salt
      • 1/2 tsp black pepper
      • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
      • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

      Equipment

      • Bread knife
      • Mixing bowl
      • Baking sheet
      • Aluminum foil

      Instructions

      1. Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
      2. Prepare the garlic butter:
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
      3. Slice the bread:
Using a bread knife, slice the baguette or loaf in half lengthwise. Place the halves cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
      4. Spread the garlic butter:
Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread. Be generous to ensure full flavor.
      5. Add the cheese:
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over both halves of the bread. Then top with the grated Parmesan cheese for an extra cheesy kick.
      6. Bake the bread:
Place the bread in the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For a golden, crispy finish, turn on the broiler for 1–2 minutes at the end, watching closely to avoid burning.
      7. Slice and serve:
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Slice into pieces and serve warm.

      Tips

      • Use fresh bread: A fresh baguette or loaf ensures the perfect balance of crispiness and softness.
      • Experiment with cheeses: Try adding cheddar, provolone, or gouda for a unique flavor.
      • Make it spicy: Add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter for a touch of heat.

Cheesy garlic bread is a crowd-pleaser that’s easy to make and even easier to love. Whether paired with a hearty pasta dish or enjoyed on its own, it’s a guaranteed hit at the dinner table. Whip up this recipe and watch it disappear in minutes!
