Pigs in a blanket are a timeless favorite for parties, game days, or casual snacks. These bite-sized treats combine savory sausages with buttery crescent roll dough for a delicious, crowd-pleasing appetizer. Whether served with your favorite dipping sauces or as-is, they’re guaranteed to disappear quickly!

      Equipment:

      • Baking sheet
      • Parchment paper or nonstick spray
      • Knife or pizza cutter

      Ingredients:

      • 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough
      • 1 package (14 oz) mini sausages or cocktail franks
      • 1 egg, beaten (optional, for egg wash)
      • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for garnish)

      Instructions:

      1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
      2. Prepare the Dough:
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles along the perforations. If needed, cut each triangle into smaller strips to fit the mini sausages.
      3. Wrap the Sausages:
Place a mini sausage at the wide end of each dough strip. Roll the dough around the sausage, sealing the edges.
      4. Optional Egg Wash and Garnish:
Brush the wrapped sausages with beaten egg for a golden finish. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds for extra flair.
      5. Bake:
Arrange the pigs in a blanket on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown.
      6. Cool and Serve:
Let cool slightly before serving with your favorite dipping sauces, such as mustard, ketchup, or honey mustard.

      Presentation Ideas:

      • Serve on a platter with small bowls of dipping sauces.
      • Arrange in a circle around a bowl of sauce for a party-ready display.

      Tips:

      • Substitute crescent roll dough with puff pastry for a flakier texture.
      • Add a slice of cheese or a dollop of mustard inside the dough for added flavor.
      • Prep ahead by assembling the pigs in a blanket and refrigerating them until ready to bake.

This easy pigs in a blanket recipe is a surefire hit for any gathering. Quick to assemble and universally loved, these savory bites are perfect for entertaining or indulging in a nostalgic snack. Bake a batch and watch them disappear!
