Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or nonstick spray
  • Knife or pizza cutter

Ingredients

  • 1 package 8 oz crescent roll dough
  • 1 package 14 oz mini sausages or cocktail franks
  • 1 egg beaten (optional, for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Prepare the Dough:
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles along the perforations. If needed, cut each triangle into smaller strips to fit the mini sausages.
  • Wrap the Sausages:
  • Place a mini sausage at the wide end of each dough strip. Roll the dough around the sausage, sealing the edges.
  • Optional Egg Wash and Garnish:
  • Brush the wrapped sausages with beaten egg for a golden finish. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds for extra flair.
  • Bake:
  • Arrange the pigs in a blanket on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown.
  • Cool and Serve:
  • Let cool slightly before serving with your favorite dipping sauces, such as mustard, ketchup, or honey mustard.
