Ingredients
  

For the Shrimp Scampi
  • 1 pound uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh or properly thawed frozen shrimp.
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil For sautéing.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Avoid burning to prevent bitterness.
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust to taste for desired heat.
  • 1 lemon Juice of Freshly squeezed is best.
  • 1 lemon Zest of Adds brightness to the dish.
  • to taste none Salt and pepper Season according to preference.
  • for garnish none Fresh parsley, chopped Adds color and freshness.
For Serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pat shrimp dry with a kitchen towel and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Bring water to a boil in a large pot and add pasta or rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink and opaque, approximately 3–5 minutes.
  3. Pour in the lemon juice and zest, stirring to coat the shrimp evenly. Allow to simmer for an additional 2–3 minutes, adjusting seasoning if needed.
  4. Toss the cooked pasta in the skillet with the shrimp mixture until well combined.
  5. Dish the shrimp scampi over the pasta or rice, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with garlic bread on the side.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality shrimp and watch the garlic to prevent it from burning. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
