  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter plus more for cooking
  • 2 large lemons zest and juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel.
  2. Season each chicken breast generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  3. In a large skillet, melt 1/4 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Stir in the lemon zest and juice, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  8. Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the top, and allow to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Plate the chicken, drizzle with the zesty sauce, and sprinkle with chopped fresh herbs.

Notes

For different proteins, you can substitute chicken with Halal turkey or paneer. Avoid overcrowding the skillet to ensure the chicken sears properly.
