Ingredients

Cucumber Ingredients
  • 4 medium medium cucumbers sliced thinly
Marinade Ingredients
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill chopped
  • 1/2 cup vinegar white or apple cider, to taste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or your preferred substitute
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the cucumbers and slice them thinly. The thinner the slices, the more flavorful they become as they soak in the marinade. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped dill, vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Whisk well until the sugar and salt dissolve completely.
  3. Pour the marinade over the sliced cucumbers. Ensure that all the slices are coated well with the mixture.
  4. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This step allows the cucumbers to absorb the zesty flavors.
  5. After chilling, stir the cucumbers well and serve. They can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.

Notes

For best results, ensure cucumbers are washed and dried thoroughly before slicing. If you don't have fresh dill, use one tablespoon of dried dill or substitute with fresh parsley. Adjust sugar according to taste.
