Cucumber Ingredients
  • 4 medium medium cucumbers, thinly sliced English cucumbers are recommended for best texture.
Marinade
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped Or use 2 tablespoons of dried dill.
  • 1/4 cup vinegar (apple cider or white vinegar)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar Optional, for a touch of sweetness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the cucumbers thoroughly. Thinly slice them using a sharp knife or mandoline, peeling them if desired.
Mix the Marinade
  1. In a large bowl, combine vinegar, minced garlic, chopped dill, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Whisk until well blended.
Combine
  1. Add the thinly sliced cucumbers to the marinade and toss gently to coat.
Marinate
  1. Let the cucumbers marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. For best flavor, allow them to marinate for a few hours.
Serve
  1. Taste for seasoning adjustments and serve the cucumbers cold as a refreshing side or snack.
