Method
Cooking the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water and then drain.
Sautéing the Sausage
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the sliced sausage until it is browned and heated through, about 5 minutes. Remove the sausage and set it aside.
Cooking the Shrimp
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds. Then, add the shrimp and sprinkle Cajun seasoning over them. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, around 3-5 minutes.
Creating the Sauce
- Pour in the cream and diced tomatoes, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Combining Ingredients
- Add the cooked pasta and sausage back into the skillet. Toss everything together and add reserved pasta water as needed to achieve your desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper.
Serving
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Plate your dish, and get ready for an amazing meal!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave.
