Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it's hot and ready for your meatballs.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, parsley, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly distributed.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cooking
- Cook the meatballs in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.
- While the meatballs are baking, heat a saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour, stirring for about a minute to create a roux. Gradually whisk in the broth, followed by the heavy cream. Bring it to a simmer, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.
- Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the gravy and let them simmer for an additional 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Plate your meatballs over a bed of rice or mashed potatoes and garnish with green onions or parsley if desired.
Notes
For leaner options, substitute with ground turkey or chicken. Avoid overcrowding the meatballs on the baking sheet to ensure even cooking.
