Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 3 slices whole grain bread Lightly toasted
  • 4 ounces sliced turkey breast (halal)
  • 1 whole avocado, sliced
  • 2 slices crispy chicken bacon (halal) or omit for lighter version
  • lettuce leaves (your favorite variety) Washed and dried
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • Mayonnaise (or vegan alternative) Generous layer on bread
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Toast the three slices of whole grain bread until golden brown.
  2. While the bread is toasting, slice the turkey, avocado, and tomato, and wash and dry the lettuce leaves.
Assembly
  1. Spread a generous layer of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted bread.
  2. On the first slice of bread, layer the lettuce and tomato slices, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Add a layer of turkey on top of the tomato, followed by two slices of crispy chicken bacon if using.
  4. Layer the avocado slices on top of the turkey and bacon, spreading evenly.
  5. Place the second slice of bread (mayonnaise side down) on top and repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Finish with the third slice of bread on top.
  7. Secure the sandwich with toothpicks, slice it in half, and serve.

Notes

For a meatless option, substitute turkey with grilled vegetables or hummus. To keep avocado fresh, add it just before serving. Avoid overloading the sandwich for better handling.
