Activate the Yeast:
In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, whisk together the remaining sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and stir to combine.
Incorporate the Flour:
Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a sticky dough forms. If using a stand mixer, switch to the dough hook and knead on medium speed for 6–8 minutes, or knead by hand on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
First Rise:
Transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
Shape the Dough:
Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it as desired—into rolls, buns, or other creations. Place the shaped dough onto a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet or pan.
Second Rise:
Cover the dough again and let it rise for another 30–45 minutes until puffy.
Bake:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve:
Brush the warm rolls with melted butter for an extra soft and flavorful finish.
