Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- In another bowl, whisk the warm water and egg together. Add the softened butter into the warm water mixture, letting it melt slightly.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix together until a sticky dough forms.
Kneading and Rising
- Dust your counter with flour and transfer the dough. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Shaping and Second Rise
- Once risen, punch down the dough gently and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape them into balls and place them in a greased 9x13 baking dish.
- Cover the shaped rolls for another 30 minutes, allowing them to rise once more.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Once preheated, bake the rolls for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush the tops with melted butter as they come out for that mouthwatering finish.
- Let your rolls cool slightly before serving.
Notes
To keep your rolls fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer shelf life, freeze them in a labeled bag for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
