The BEST Dorito Casserole – Easy Weeknight Dinner Recipe!

This Dorito Casserole is the ultimate comfort food! Packed with layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy cheese, and crunchy Doritos, it’s an easy and delicious dinner perfect for busy weeknights.

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • 9x13-inch casserole dish
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Foil

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 can 10 ounces cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can 10 ounces Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1 large bag 9.75 ounces nacho cheese Doritos, crushed

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the Ground Beef:
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning and water, and cook until the mixture thickens (about 3–4 minutes).
  • Prepare the Creamy Filling:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, Rotel, sour cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well.
  • Assemble the Casserole:
  • Spread a layer of crushed Doritos at the bottom of the casserole dish.
  • Layer half of the ground beef mixture on top, followed by half of the creamy filling.
  • Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of Doritos on top. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly over the casserole.
  • Bake:
  • Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve:
  • Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with your favorite toppings!
