Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1 packet instant yeast (around 2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 1 cup warm milk (not too hot)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted, plus extra for brushing)
  • 2 large eggs

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5–10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, mix 3 cups of flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add melted butter and eggs.
Combine
  1. Gradually pour the yeast mixture into the well, stirring with a wooden spoon. Add more flour as needed until a soft and slightly sticky dough forms.
Knead the Dough
  1. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, adding flour as necessary to prevent sticking. Knead until smooth and elastic.
First Rise
  1. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
Shape Rolls
  1. After the dough has risen, punch it down, and turn it onto a floured surface. Divide it into 12 equal portions and shape into balls.
Second Rise
  1. Arrange the dough balls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise again for 30-40 minutes until puffy.
Bake
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter before serving.

Notes

Kneading is key to achieving a soft, fluffy texture. Ensure the dough rises in a warm environment for best results. Don't skip brushing with melted butter after baking for extra flavor.
