Ingredients

Key Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons butter Can substitute with ghee or olive oil.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 small onion, diced (optional) Adds extra flavor.
  • seasonings (like garlic powder or red pepper flakes) Optional, according to taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Rinse the fresh green beans under cold water. Trim the ends and set them aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Make sure the butter doesn’t brown — you want it melted and bubbly!
Cooking
  1. If you choose to include onions, add them to the pan and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they become translucent.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, taking care not to burn it.
  3. Add the trimmed green beans to the skillet, followed by the salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings. Stir well to coat all of the beans.
  4. Continue to sauté the green beans for about 5-7 minutes until they reach your desired level of tenderness. Remember, a little crunch is key!
  5. Once cooked, transfer them to a serving dish, and you’re ready to impress!

Notes

For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze before cooking for up to a month. Reheat by sautéing again with a bit of butter or oil.
