Tartar Sauce Recipe

This homemade tartar sauce recipe is creamy, tangy, and loaded with flavor—perfect for pairing with seafood, sandwiches, or even as a dipping sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickles finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon capers rinsed and chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice optional for extra tang
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried dill)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Combine Ingredients:
  • In a mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, pickle juice, and dill.
  • Season:
  • Stir in the garlic powder and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Mix Well:
  • Whisk or stir until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Adjust flavors as needed by adding more lemon juice or dill.
  • Chill:
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve:
  • Serve chilled alongside your favorite seafood dishes or as a condiment for sandwiches or burgers.
