Tartar Sauce Recipe
This homemade tartar sauce recipe is creamy, tangy, and loaded with flavor—perfect for pairing with seafood, sandwiches, or even as a dipping sauce.
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons dill pickles finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon capers rinsed and chopped (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon pickle juice optional for extra tang
- 1 teaspoon fresh dill chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried dill)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Combine Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, pickle juice, and dill.
Season:
Stir in the garlic powder and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Mix Well:
Whisk or stir until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Adjust flavors as needed by adding more lemon juice or dill.
