Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed tightly
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup buttermilk Or milk with a splash of vinegar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-Ins
  • 1 cup chopped pecans Can toast for deeper flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped pecans into the batter.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, do not overmix the batter. You can add spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
