Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangular shape, about ¼ inch thick.
- Layer the sliced deli meats evenly across the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle the cheese over the meats, and add the sautéed vegetables on top. Optionally, add Italian seasoning.
- Starting from one end, roll the dough tightly into a log shape and pinch the seams and ends to seal the Stromboli.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it over the top of the rolled dough.
- Make a few small slits on top of the dough to allow steam to escape. Place the rolled Stromboli onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Baking
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
Serving
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with warm marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
Substitutions: You can swap the meats for grilled chicken or use veggies for a meat-free option. Timing is key to ensure the dough is rolled tight enough. Avoid overfilling the Stromboli.
