Ingredients
  

Pasta and Sauce
  • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
Cheeses
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese Can substitute with cottage cheese.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Add extra for cheesiness.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Spinach and Seasoning
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped Star ingredient for flavor.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the ziti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir in the chopped fresh spinach until well blended.
  4. Add the cooked ziti and 1 cup of marinara sauce to the bowl with the spinach mixture. Stir gently to combine everything together.
Baking
  1. In a baking dish, spread a layer of the remaining marinara sauce on the bottom. Pour the ziti and spinach mixture over the sauce. Top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
  2. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serving
  1. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your homemade Spinach Ziti straight from the oven!

Notes

Pairs well with garlic bread or a fresh green salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
