Ingredients

Pasta and Base Ingredients
  • 12 ounces pasta (penne or rotini) Use your preferred pasta type.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the beef.
  • 1 pound ground beef (or a meat substitute) Choose lean beef or a plant-based alternative.
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust to taste.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Sauce Ingredients
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a rich and creamy sauce.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Garnish
  • to taste Chopped green onions For garnish.
  • to taste Parsley For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Once the beef is cooked, stir in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cooking
  1. Lower the heat and add the heavy cream to the beef mixture, stirring gently. Allow it to simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Reduce the heat further, then add the shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheeses are melted and the sauce is creamy.
  3. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and mix well until every piece is coated in that luscious cheese sauce.
  4. Garnish with chopped green onions and parsley, and serve hot for a deliciously comforting meal.

Notes

You can substitute ground turkey or a plant-based meat alternative for a lighter dish. If there are any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a pan over low heat, adding a splash of milk or water to loosen the sauce.
