  • 12 oz Egg Noodles Wide
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Lean
  • 1 cup Onion Chopped
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 10.5 oz Cream of Mushroom Soup Or sour cream alternative
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese Shredded, divided
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil water in a large pot and cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chopped onions. Cook until browned (approximately 7-10 minutes). Drain any excess fat.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked noodles, browned beef, sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup of shredded cheddar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well until everything is incorporated.
  5. Spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray and pour the mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese on top of the mixture.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your creamy casserole goodness!

Notes

Consider adding cooked broccoli or spinach for a healthy twist. You can prepare this dish a day in advance and experiment with different types of cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
