Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup rolled oats Use gluten-free oats if needed.
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk Or any Halal-friendly milk.
  • 1 medium ripe banana, mashed Should be very ripe for sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds Chia seeds help in thickening the oats.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Gives the smoky flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances overall flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup Optional, adjust sweetness to preference.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances sweetness.
Toppings
  • sliced banana, nuts, or honey Customize your toppings for extra flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond milk, mashed banana, chia seeds, smoked paprika, vanilla extract, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well blended.
  2. Make sure there's no clump of chia seeds at the bottom—our goal is a nice, smooth texture!
Chilling
  1. Transfer the mixture into two or more jars or airtight containers. Seal them tightly and place in the refrigerator. Let them chill and sit overnight (or at least for 4 hours) to allow the oats and chia seeds to expand.
Serving
  1. In the morning, give it a good stir before serving. Decorate the top with sliced banana, drizzle with honey, and a sprinkle of nuts for added crunch.
  2. Dive in and savor the delightful flavors!

Notes

These oats can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to a month and thaw in the fridge overnight. To enjoy warm, heat on the stovetop for a few minutes.
