  • 4-5 pounds Halal corned beef brisket Select a high-quality brisket for the best flavor.
  • 1 medium onion, quartered Creates a flavorful base.
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth Use broth without added preservatives.
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns For seasoning.
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds Can be substituted with dill seeds.
  • 2 teaspoons coriander seeds For added flavor.
  • 2-3 pieces bay leaves Enhances the aroma.
  • 4-5 medium-sized carrots, cut into chunks Optional vegetables.
  • 4-5 medium-sized potatoes, diced Also optional.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by placing the onion quarters at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Place the Halal corned beef brisket on top of the onions.
  3. Pour the beef broth over the meat.
  4. Sprinkle the black peppercorns, mustard seeds, coriander seeds, and bay leaves over the brisket.
Cooking
  1. Set your slow cooker on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
  2. Add carrots and potatoes halfway through the cooking time.
Serving
  1. Remove the corned beef from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes.
  2. Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite topping.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze portions in freezer-safe bags for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or stovetop with beef broth to maintain moisture.
