  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 can (15 oz) sloppy Joe sauce
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough Low-fat option can be used.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
Optional Toppings
  • as needed diced onions For garnish.
  • as needed sliced pickles For garnish.
  • as needed fresh parsley For garnish.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add the sloppy Joe sauce to the ground beef, stirring until fully coated. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Open the can of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the beef mixture and biscuit pieces.
Baking
  1. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown and cheese is melted.
  4. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F or microwave individual portions.
