  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain Ensure to slice against the grain for tenderness.
  • 2 pieces bell peppers (red and green), sliced Use a mix of colors for visual appeal.
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Adjust amount according to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional) Can be omitted for a vegetarian option.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch For marinating the beef.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Use for stir-frying.
  • to taste salt and pepper Add according to personal preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain. Marinade with soy sauce and cornstarch for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat two tablespoons of vegetable oil over high heat until shimmering.
Cooking
  1. Add the marinated steak to the pan, spreading it out in an even layer. Sear for about 2-3 minutes until browned, flipping once. Remove the steak and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook for about 2 minutes.
  3. Add the bell peppers and minced garlic. Stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet, adding oyster sauce, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together over high heat for about 1-2 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with fresh green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Reheat using a skillet on low to medium heat.
