Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Ground chicken or beef
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce Plus more for drizzling
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¾ cup Breadcrumbs For binding
  • Cooking oil spray For greasing

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking oil spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken or beef with garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt, and breadcrumbs. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly blended.
  3. Take a portion of the mixture (about the size of a golf ball) and flatten it in your palm. Place a tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese in the center.
  4. Wrap the meat mixture around the cheese, making sure it’s fully enclosed, and shape it into a ball. Repeat the process until all the meat mixture is used.
  5. Place the cheese-filled balls on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they’re spaced out evenly.
  6. Drizzle BBQ sauce over each bomb for extra flavor.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the exterior is golden and the meat is cooked through.
  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before biting into these cheesy delights.

Notes

For a spicy kick, consider adding jalapeños or chili flakes to the meat mixture. Make sure to seal the cheese completely within the meat to avoid any leakage during cooking. Experiment with different cheese types; pepper jack or mozzarella can add an interesting flavor twist! Keep an eye on the cooking time, as smaller bombs will cook faster than larger ones. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes.
