Shrimp Tacos Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • For the Shrimp:
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Slaw:
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage red or green
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • For Assembly:
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • Optional toppings: diced avocado sliced jalapeños, crumbled cotija cheese, lime wedges

Instructions
 

  • Season the Shrimp:
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Make the Slaw:
  • In another bowl, combine shredded cabbage, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss well and set aside.
  • Prepare the Sauce:
  • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, hot sauce (if using), and garlic powder. Adjust seasoning to taste and set aside.
  • Cook the Shrimp:
  • Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  • Warm the Tortillas:
  • Heat the tortillas in a dry skillet, on a grill, or in the microwave until pliable and warm.
  • Assemble the Tacos:
  • Fill each tortilla with a portion of slaw, followed by a few shrimp. Drizzle with the sauce and add optional toppings like avocado or cotija cheese.
  • Serve:
  • Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.
