Method
Preparation
- Trim the asparagus and gather all your ingredients to streamline the cooking process.
Marinating
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Coat the tuna steaks in the marinade and let them soak for about 10 minutes.
Cooking Asparagus
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil and sauté the trimmed asparagus for about 5-7 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Season with salt and pepper, then transfer to a plate.
Searing Tuna
- In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed and increase the heat to high. Sear the marinated tuna steaks for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if preferred.
Serving
- Plate the tuna steaks with the asparagus and garnish with fresh herbs. Drizzle with additional lemon juice if desired and enjoy!
Notes
To keep leftovers fresh, store in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. If freezing, do so before adding garnishes and thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
