Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente, following package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
Mixing
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, half the mozzarella cheese, bell peppers, olives, mushrooms, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well until evenly incorporated.
Baking
- Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly, then top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serving
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat individually in the microwave or cover the casserole with foil and heat at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes.
