Ingredients

For the Beef Filling
  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
For the Tacos
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage (for topping)
  • 1 each avocado, diced (for topping)
  • ¼ cup sliced green onions (for topping)
  • ¼ cup spicy mayonnaise (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil.
  2. Add the ground beef and coat it evenly. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. In a separate skillet, warm the tortillas over low heat, flipping them occasionally until they are pliable and warm.
Assembly
  1. On each warm tortilla, add a generous scoop of the savory beef mixture. Top with shredded cabbage, diced avocado, and sliced green onions.
  2. Drizzle with spicy mayonnaise, if desired. Enjoy your delicious Savory Korean Beef Tacos!

Notes

Feel free to replace ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner alternative. For best results, do not overcook the beef to ensure juiciness.
