Sausage Rolls Appetizer – A Classic Party Favorite Made Easy!

Deliciously flaky and savory sausage rolls are the ultimate appetizer for any occasion. Perfect for parties, game days, or an afternoon snack!

Ingredients
  

  • For the Sausage Rolls:
  • 1 lb ground sausage pork, chicken, or turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pack 14 oz puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional Garnish:
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds for sprinkling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the Sausage Filling:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  • Roll Out the Pastry:
  • Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the puff pastry into a large rectangle, about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the pastry into two or three long strips.
  • Assemble the Rolls:
  • Spoon the sausage mixture evenly down the center of each pastry strip. Fold the pastry over the filling, overlapping the edges slightly, and press to seal. Place the rolls seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  • Cut and Brush:
  • Use a sharp knife to cut each roll into bite-sized pieces (about 2 inches each). Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds, if desired.
  • Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage is fully cooked.
  • Cool and Serve:
  • Allow the sausage rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
