Ingredients

For the Meatballs
  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a lighter dish.
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce Optional, verify for dietary restrictions.
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
For the Gravy
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup brown gravy Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 15 minutes or until browned and cooked through, checking that the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
Making the Gravy
  1. While the meatballs bake, prepare the gravy. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, beef broth, and brown gravy. Stir continuously until the mixture is well blended and starts to simmer.
  2. Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the gravy and let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes on low heat.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy with mashed potatoes or veggies!

Notes

Don’t overmix the meat mixture to avoid dense meatballs. Personalize your spices and allow for extra flavor.
