Preparation
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions, usually around 3-5 minutes for fresh or 7-10 minutes for frozen. Once done, drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
- While the tortellini is cooking, chop the salami, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, red onion, and olives into bite-sized pieces.
Combine and Dress
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked tortellini, salami, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, red onion, black olives, and fresh basil.
- Pour in the Italian dressing and mix everything together until well combined. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
Chill and Serve
- Allow the salad to chill in the refrigerator for at least 15-20 minutes to let the flavors meld. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
To enhance your pasta salad, use the freshest vegetables and cheeses, consider making a homemade dressing, and allow the salad to chill for at least 20 minutes before serving.
