Ingredients

For the Grilled Cheese
  • 4 slices slices of bread Sourdough works wonders!
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1-2 roasted jalapenos (peeled and seeded)
  • 2 tablespoons butter For toasting the bread, make sure it’s Halal
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to broil. Cut fresh jalapenos in half, remove seeds, and place them on a baking sheet. Roast for about 5-7 minutes until the skin blisters. Then remove, cool, and chop finely.
  2. In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with the shredded cheddar cheese. Add in the chopped jalapenos, salt, and pepper. Blend until nicely mixed.
Assembly and Cooking
  1. Spread a generous amount of the cheese mixture between two slices of bread. Top with another slice of bread.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Once melted, place your sandwich in the skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Flip and repeat for the other side.
  3. Once both sides are crispy and the cheese is gooey, remove from the heat, slice in half, and serve hot. Feel free to add on your favorite garnishes!

Notes

For a gourmet twist, try using Gouda or pepper jack cheese. Ensure all cheese products are Halal-certified. Keep an eye on the skillet to avoid burning. Cooking times may vary based on your stove. Don't rush the process; maintain medium heat so the bread gets golden brown and cheese melts thoroughly.
