Roasted Asparagus Recipe
This roasted asparagus recipe is quick, easy, and delicious! Perfectly tender and lightly caramelized, it’s a healthy and flavorful side dish ready in under 20 minutes.
- 1 pound fresh asparagus ends trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 clove garlic minced (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional, for serving
- Grated Parmesan cheese or toasted almonds optional, for garnish
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Prepare the Asparagus:
Wash and trim the tough ends of the asparagus by bending each spear until it naturally snaps or by cutting off about 1–2 inches from the bottom.
Season the Asparagus:
Place the asparagus on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and add minced garlic if using. Toss with tongs or your hands to coat evenly. Spread the asparagus in a single layer.
Roast the Asparagus:
Roast in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the spears. Thin asparagus will cook faster, while thicker spears may need more time.
Serve:
Remove from the oven and drizzle with lemon juice for a bright finish. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese or toasted almonds, if desired. Serve warm.
