Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips for that extra indulgence.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges look set and the tops are slightly cracked.
- Remove from the oven, let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use good quality chocolate for richer taste. Don't overbake for a chewy texture. Experiment with mix-ins like nuts or caramel.
