Preparation
- Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it in coarse salt or sugar until it’s well coated.
- In a shaker or mixology glass, add the fresh blackberries and gently smash them until juicy but not completely pureed.
- Pour in the tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup into the shaker with the smashed blackberries. Fill the shaker with ice.
- Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.
- Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the mixture into your prepared glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with lime wedges on the rim and add a few whole blackberries, if desired.
- Grab your straw, sip, and relish the refreshing taste of your Blackberry Margarita Smash!
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila with sparkling water. Serve immediately after shaking for best taste. Avoid over-muddling blackberries.
