  • 2 oz tequila (ensure it's Halal-certified) Use a Halal-friendly tequila.
  • 1 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed for the best flavor) Fresh lime juice enhances flavor.
  • 1 oz simple syrup Adjust sweetness as needed.
  • ½ cup fresh blackberries Fresh blackberries are recommended.
  • Ice For shaking and serving.
  • Salt or sugar for rimming (optional) For a flavored rim.
  • Lime wedges for garnish For decoration and flavor.

Preparation
  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it in coarse salt or sugar until it’s well coated.
  2. In a shaker or mixology glass, add the fresh blackberries and gently smash them until juicy but not completely pureed.
  3. Pour in the tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup into the shaker with the smashed blackberries. Fill the shaker with ice.
  4. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.
  5. Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the mixture into your prepared glass filled with ice.
  6. Garnish with lime wedges on the rim and add a few whole blackberries, if desired.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila with sparkling water. Serve immediately after shaking for best taste. Avoid over-muddling blackberries.
