Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 can coconut milk (13.5 oz)
  • 1 can evaporated milk (12 oz)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
Flavor Ingredients
  • 1 cup sweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • optional toasted coconut for garnish Optional garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large blender, combine the coconut milk, evaporated milk, and sweetened condensed milk. Blend until well mixed for a creamy base.
  2. Next, add the sweetened cocoa powder, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg to the blender. Blend again until all the ingredients are evenly combined and smooth.
  3. Give your Chocolate Coquito a taste! If it needs more sweetness or flavor, you can adjust the cocoa or spices according to your preference.
  4. Pour the mixture into a pitcher and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to meld the flavors.
  5. When ready to serve, stir well and pour into glasses. Garnish with toasted coconut if desired.

Notes

For a lighter version, use light coconut milk or almond milk. Experiment with flavors like a dash of chili powder for an interesting twist. Allowing Coquito to chill longer enhances the flavors.
