Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and core the apples, then cut them into quarters.
- Place a piece of apple in the center of each crescent roll triangle, then roll the dough around the apple, sealing the seams.
Making the Syrup
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the sugar and cinnamon until dissolved.
- Remove from heat and pour the mixture over the wrapped apples.
Baking
- Pour the Sprite around the edges of the baking dish.
- Bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden and the apples are tender.
Serving
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
