  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the fresh orange juice, eggs, vegetable oil, and orange zest until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Do not over-mix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.

Notes

Use fresh orange juice and zest for the best flavor. Check for doneness a few minutes before the suggested baking time. Can be served with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream.
