Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Layering
- Spread half of the frozen cheese ravioli evenly across the bottom of the dish.
- Pour half of the marinara sauce over the ravioli, making sure to cover it well.
- Drop spoonfuls of ricotta cheese on top of the sauce, but don’t worry about spreading it perfectly; it will melt in the oven!
- If using, sprinkle the fresh spinach evenly over the ricotta layer.
- Add the remaining ravioli, followed by the remaining marinara sauce.
Finishing Touches
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top, then season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serving
- Let it cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh basil if desired. Serve hot!
Notes
To complement the casserole, serve it with a side salad or garlic bread. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days or frozen for up to two months.
