Meat Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Lean ground beef preferred
  • 1 pound Italian sausage Can use mild or spicy
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
Sauce and Seasoning
  • 1 jar pizza sauce (24 oz) Any preferred brand
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
Pasta and Cheese
  • 3 cups cooked pasta Penne or rotini recommended
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage for about 5-7 minutes until no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder, and let it simmer for a few minutes for flavors to meld.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, meat mixture, and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serving
  1. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with additional Parmesan or Italian herbs if desired!

Notes

Serve with a fresh garden salad or garlic bread. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
