Ingredients

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Use a tablespoon to scoop out portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each cookie.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, consider chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Experiment with mix-ins like chopped nuts or chocolate chips for added flavor!
