Dumpling Filling
  • 1 pound Ground Chicken (or Halal-friendly ground beef)
  • 1 cup Shiitake Mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 cup Green Onions, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • to taste Pepper
Dumpling Wrappers
  • 1 package Dumpling Wrappers

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped shiitake mushrooms, green onions, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Take a dumpling wrapper and place a small spoonful of filling in the center. With a little water on your fingers, moisten the edges of the wrapper. Pinch the top to create a 'money bag' shape and ensure it’s sealed tightly. Repeat for the remaining wrappers.
  3. Place the dumplings in a bamboo steamer lined with parchment paper or a steaming tray.
Cooking
  1. Steam over boiling water for about 15 minutes or until the filling is cooked through.
  2. Enjoy your Lucky Money Bags Steamed Dumplings with a side of soy sauce, chili oil, or a sprinkle of fresh herbs.

Notes

For substitutions, ground chicken can be replaced with ground turkey or a mixture of your favorite veggies for a vegetarian version. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze before steaming for up to one month.
