  • 1 package lemon cake mix Use any brand as per preference.
For the Cream Filling
  • 1 package instant lemon pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk Use any preferred milk type.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Low-fat cream cheese can be used for a lighter version.
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice Freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • to taste Lemon zest for garnish For a fragrant finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the lemon cake mix package.
  2. Prepare the lemon cake according to the package instructions. Once the batter is ready, pour it into a greased baking dish and bake until golden brown.
  3. Allow the cake to cool completely.
Making the Cream Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Gradually add in the milk and lemon juice, mixing until combined.
  3. Gently fold in the whipped topping until smooth and fluffy.
Assembly
  1. Once the lemon cake has cooled, cut it into layers if desired or leave it as is.
  2. Spread the cream filling evenly on top of the cake.
Chilling
  1. Place the assembled cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serving
  1. Before serving, sprinkle lemon zest over the top for a fragrant finishing touch.

Notes
