Ingredients
  

For the shrimp

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh shrimp for best flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon zest and juice of

Preparation

  • Peel and devein the shrimp if not already done, ensuring they are clean before cooking. Pat them dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat until it becomes bubbly and begins to foam.

Cooking

  • Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant but not browned.
  • Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and are cooked through.
  • Once the shrimp are cooked, add lemon zest and lemon juice. Stir to combine and allow the flavors to meld together for a minute.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve over rice, pasta, or with a crusty baguette. A side of garlic bread, a crisp green salad, or steamed asparagus pairs well. For drinks, a chilled glass of white wine or lemonade complements the dish.
