Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Use high-quality unsalted butter for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons capers, drained and rinsed
  • 1 large lemon (juice and zest) Fresh is best for vibrant flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic adds a fragrant touch.
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) Enhances flavor and presentation.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust based on preference.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Be careful not to let it brown too much; we want a light, golden color.
  • Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until it's fragrant.
  • Gently stir in the capers and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing their briny flavor to infuse the butter.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat, then squeeze the juice from the lemon into the mixture, catching any seeds. Add the lemon zest for extra flavor.
  • Season your sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Give it a good stir, and it’s ready to serve!

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop. For longer storage, consider freezing in ice cube trays.
