Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb flank steak (or your choice of beef, thinly sliced)
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or coconut aminos for a gluten-free option)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated, optional) For added flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Trim the beef and slice it thinly against the grain.
  2. Prepare the broccoli florets and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet and add the soy sauce and sesame oil. Toss everything together for another minute to combine the flavors.
  5. Transfer the stir-fry to a serving dish and sprinkle with sesame seeds for added crunch, if desired.

Notes

Slice the beef thinly for maximum tenderness. For extra flavor, consider marinating the beef beforehand. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
